Nordic ESERO - Below the polar sky - Andøya Space Center



Gjennom dette kurset vil du som kursdeltaker lære deg å benytte forskjellige bakkebaserte data og satellittdata for å studere sol aktiviteten. Sentralt i undervisningen finner man introduksjon til Nordic ESERO sin egen «Romkoffert» som er en samling instrumenter tilrettelagt for bruk i klasserommet for observasjoner av sola, romværet og stråling i omgivelsene. I etterkant av kurset vil man kunne låne denne «Romkofferten» gratis av Nordic ESERO til bruk i egen undervisning.

Temaer for kurset er blant annet: overvåking av solaktivitet, romvær, sola og nordlys, instrumentering og observasjoner, forskning knyttet til romvær. Samtlige tema er knyttet opp mot læreplanmål i skolen.


I denna kurs får du lära dig använda markobservations- och satellitdata för att studera solens aktivitet. En central del i kursen är Nordic Eseros Rymdväska. Den består av klassrumsanpassade instrument för observationer av solen, rymdväder och strålning i den omgivande miljön. Efter kursen kan du kostnadsfritt låna en Rymdväska för att använda i din egen undervisning.

Teman i kursen är bland annat: övervakning av solaktivitet, rymdväder, sol- och norrsken, instrument och observationer, forskning om rymdväder. Varje tema är kopplat till målen i läroplanen. Kursbeskrivningen hittar du här.


Kurssin avulla opit osallistujana miten dataa maasta sekä satelliiteista voi hyödyntää auringon aktiviteetin tutkimuksessa. 

Keskeisenä teemana kurssin aikana on Nordic ESERO:n avaruussalkku. Salkku sisältää koulun opetukseen soveltuvia välineitä joilla voi tutkia aurinkoa, avaruutta sekä ympäristön säteilyä.  Kurssin jälkeen salkkua voi lainata Nordic ESERO:lta omaan koulun opetukseen ilmaiseksi. 

Kurssin teemoja ovat: Auringon aktiviteetin tutkiminen, avaruussää, aurinko, revontulet, avaruussäähän liittyvä tutkimus, välineet sekä havainnointi. Teemat kytkeytyvät koulujen opetussuunnitelmien tavoitteisiin. Kurssin sisältö avautuu tästä.

Course Content

  • Targeting: Nordic teachers teaching in natural science or physics at lower or upper secondary school.
  • Credits: 10 ECTS (250-300 hours)
  • Starting: 14th August, 2018
  • Kursperiode: 14th August – 30th November, 2018
  • Field trip: Five days, 5th - 9th November, 2018 at Andøya Space Center. Arrival: 4th Nov by 23:30 and departure 9th Nov at 13:00
  • Application deadline: 1st May, 2018
  • Teaching language: English
  • Exam: Home exam 30th November, 2018
  • Cost: Cost: No course fee. Food, lodging and other costs are covered by the Nordic ESERO. Please note that semester fee to the Nord universitet must be covered by the individual course participant (approximately NOK 850)
  • Lecturer: Physisist Alexander Biebricher (NAROM), Teacher Jan Holmgård
  • Admission requirements: Applicants must comply one of the following:
    1. Teacher Education (for example, elementary school teacher, public teacher or course with PPU)
    2. Bachelor with extra 30 credits in natural science and at least three years natural science teaching experience

Also, remember that you must provide a copy of a diploma from college or University with grades from Norwegian or Nordic education confirming that you are eligible to study at Nord universitet. Applicants without teaching education must submit evidence that they fill the requirement of a minimum of 3 years of work experience in addition to diplomas from the University or college. Note! The Swedish lärerlegitimationen is not accepted as documentation for admission to higher education in Norway.
